Movies Worth Leaving Your South Austin Apartment For

  |     |   Uncategorized

The Brodie is back with another blog post for those of you living in our South Austin apartment community, and you’ll want to get your popcorn out for this one.

Check out this list of must-see movies, as decided upon by your community of South Austin rentals.

Murder on the Orient Express

(Nov. 10th)

Johnny Depp hasn’t done a really good movie in awhile, so we’re happy to see him featured in an end-of-the-year release. This is, of course, the film adaptation of the Agatha Christie novel by the same name. The plot revolves around a luxurious train carrying 13 strangers. One person is killed, and the movie quickly turns into a mystery thriller as the passengers try to identify the killer.

This movie is filled with A-list actors such as Depp, Penelope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench and Michelle Pfeiffer. With acting like that, this movie is almost guaranteed to be worth your time. Plus, it’s set in the snowy mountains of Europe, so going to the movies will be a completely different experience from the 75 degree weather we’ve got right now.

Justice League

(Nov. 17th)

In a year filled with quality superhero movies, Justice League is the most anticipated film of them all. You can expect to see huge ticket sale numbers for this movie, as it has a superhero for every fan. You’ll see Batman (played by Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Played by Gal Gadot), Aquaman (played by Jason Momoa) and even Lois Lane, who’s not a superhero but is played by the great Amy Adams.

Wonder Woman fans will also recognize Robin Wright, who plays Antiope. Jesse Eisenberg even makes an appearance as Lex Luthor, of all people. Basically, we’re telling you that every actor you’ve ever loved is in this film, so check it out!

Star Wars — The Last Jedi

(Dec. 15th)

People are looking forward to Justice League, but people are really looking forward to Star Wars. The trailer was released about a month ago on Monday Night Football, accompanied by storm troopers walking on the field and joining the announcer in the booth. Star Wars is always over the top, but this film seems even more hyped than usual.

If you watched the trailer, you saw that Star Wars is introducing the audience to a few new critters, namely one screaming little toad-looking thing, and some dogs that appear to be made out of ice. Of course, we’ll also get heavy doses of Chewbacca and the robot BB-8.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (Dec. 22nd)

Although Jumanji isn’t getting the same kind of hype as Justice League and Star Wars, it’s an exciting release for moviegoers of  a certain age. Tons of 20-somethings have probably watched Jumanji on VHS more times than they can count, so to see another version released in theatres is special. This version of Jumanji will feature The Rock, but we can only hope that the movie includes some kind of homage to the late, great Robin Williams. Seeing Jumanji in theatres will be nostalgic, fun, and probably a little sad, but any good movie experience comes with a roller coaster of emotions.

That concludes our list of movie recommendations, residents! We hope you enjoyed this post, and that you go see one of the movies on this list for yourselves.
